Septarian
Nodules
Septarian Nodules come in many shapes and
sizes.
They formed several hundred millions of years ago in dried clay
when small cracks start to get cemented together with calcite.
When it weathers out the softer cemented clay is worn away and
the harder calcite mineral stands out as a network of veins.
